Charles J. Penrose, a lifelong farmer and dedicated machinist, passed away unexpectedly on January 17, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on March 3, 1946, Charles devoted many years to the agricultural life, fostering a deep connection to the land he farmed. In addition, he spent over 30 years as a machinist, concluding his career at Industrial Grindings in Dayton, Ohio. 

Charles was not only a diligent worker but also a loving father and grandpa. His family was central to his life, and he cherished the incredible bond he shared with his grandchildren. Watching them play sports brought him immense joy, and he was known for never missing a game. 

He is survived by his two sons, Michael Penrose and Timothy Penrose, along with his grandchildren: Darian, Devin, Jaden, Timothy, and Taryn Penrose. Additionally, he is survived by his great-grandchildren, Teagan and Wales, and by his cousins, Ed and Gary Phillips.

Charles was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jeanette Penrose; his brother, Michael Anthony Penrose; and his parents, Charles and Rebecca Penrose.

A memorial gathering to honor Charles’s life will be held on February 22, 2025, at Ingling and Lewis Funeral Home, 24 N Chillicothe St, South Charleston, Ohio 45368. The gathering will begin at 12:00 p.m. and conclude at 1:30 p.m. Condolences may be expressed to his family through his obituary page at www.jacksonlytle.com.
