Charles Allen Lawrence

December 10, 1949 — June 7, 2024

Springfield

Charles (Charlie) Allen Lawrence (74) passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on June 7th, 2024, after facing a long battle with COPD, emphysema, diabetes and stage 4 cancer. Just in the past 4 months he fought off covid, 6 rounds of pneumonia, the flu and blood clots in his lung. He went on his own terms and fought every step of the way.
Charlie was born on December 10th, 1949, along with his twin brother Clyde. From a young age, Charlie learned to work hard and figure everything out for himself. If it was broken, he’d fix it. He was always working on cars and trucks for the people he knew and cared about. He especially loved helping his best friend Charlie Tilton keep his dump trucks up and running since diesels were his favorite.  Charlie truly loved working on engines, and he was always honest about the work he did. He was there to help anyone in need whenever he could. He will be greatly missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his parents Cloyd Albert (father), Eunice (mother) and his twin brother Clyde. Charlie leaves behind his loving wife of 51 years Sharon Lawrence; his son Andy Lawrence; his daughter Kelsey Moffitt (Christian); grandsons Aiden and Colin Moffitt; his sisters Pat Cannode (George) and Linda Kan (Bill); sister in law Rose Lawrence; several nieces, nephews and lots of cousins.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff from Soin, The James, Springfield Regional and the Day City Hospice. Memorial services will be held at the family home on June 22nd at 5pm. If you need the address, please email Sharon at cslawrence73@yahoo.com. Casual clothes required. Contributions in Charlies name can be made to Day City Hospice.
