Candice Ann “Candy” McCabe, 70, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2020 at The Ohio State University Medical Center. Candy was born on March 15, 1949, in Springfield, the daughter of the late Samuel E. and Julia (Sheline) McCabe. Candy graduated from Miami University with her Bachelor of English and continued her education to receive her Master of English. She taught middle school and high school English in Russia, Ohio and after retirement, she taught at Edison State Community College. Candy loved cooking and travelling but above all else, she adored her family. She is survived by her loving sister, Robin (John) Irvine; nieces and nephews that she treated as her own children, Melissa (Mat) Baker, Alexander (Angie) Toll, Samantha (Mario) Troutman and Tara Irvine; and 11 great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, Candy is preceded in death by her sister, Cindy Toll. Viewing will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2020 from 10a.m.-11a.m. at Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center. A celebration of her life will begin at 11a.m. with Pastor Kevin Moehn officiating. Burial will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery.
