TOWNLEY, Buddy E. "Bud" age 82 of Springfield, Ohio passed away with his family by his side on Friday, March 8, 2024 at Forest Glen Health Campus. Bud was born on January 5, 1942 to the late John Dudley and Gladys (Wise) Townley in Sunbury, Ohio. In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by his beloved son, Bryan Townley and his brothers-in-law, Gary Girberd and Phil Williams. He leaves behind his loving wife of 63 years, Linda W. Townley. Bud's legacy will live on through his daughter, Deb (Scott) Strain; daughter-in-law, Dawn Townley grandchildren: Arrin (Abbey) Turnmire, Katie (Trevor) Myers, Taylor Strain, Amanda Townley and Justin Townley; great-grandchildren: Finnigan, Graham, Effie, and Willow; sister, Erlene Girberd; brother-in-law, Garry (Pat) Williams; sister-in-law, Linda Williams as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Bud graduated from Sunbury High School in 1960 and attended Tri-State College in Angola, Indiana where he majored in engineering. The Champion Company brought Bud and his family to Springfield, Ohio where he was an engineer for roughly 15 years before spending the next 20 years as Vice President of Building Services at Wenco. Bud participated in Northridge Lions and the Springfield Engineers Club and was a member of Buck Creek Road Church of Christ. He was a true craftsman who also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping. Bud was the definition of a loving family man with a great sense of humor. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center with his funeral beginning at 4:00 p.m. Pastor Bill Warax officiating. Bud will be laid to rest in Trenton Cemetery in Sunbury, Ohio on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be made to Bud's church or Ohio's Hospice of Dayton.
