Bernice M. (Amlin) Goodfellow

Bernice M. Goodfellow, age 100, of Springfield, was born in Westville, Ohio on March 28, 1924 to Esta (Ballentine) and Herman Skidmore. She was a graduate of Lawrenceville High School, Urbana University and Wright State University. She was a teacher in the Northeastern district for 28 years. Bernice was a member of Plattsburg United Church of Christ. She is survived by her daughter, Debra Bell (Harold “Frosty” Frost); daughter-in-law, Janet Amlin; sister-in-law, Eileen Skidmore; grandchildren, Jeff Amlin, Jack Amlin (DeAnn Baker) and Julane (Brian) Walker; and several great and great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are stepchildren, Jim (Sue) Goodfellow and Anna Ruth (Stan) Runyan. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dale Skidmore; son, James Amlin; first husband of 54 years, John Amlin; second husband, John R. Goodfellow; and stepdaughter, Nancy Nathaniel. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, from 10-11a.m. at Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center with service beginning at 11a.m. Burial will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery.
