Anna Yvonne Steinmetz

Anna Yvonne Steinmetz, age 89 of Springfield, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on December 1, 2024. She was born November 9, 1935 in Harrogate, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Rev. Sillis and Pearl (Gulley) Hendrix. Anna is survived by her children, Kimberly Lopez, Stephanie Fisher, and Rev. David (Jill) Steinmetz, grandchildren, Amanda, Heather, Chelsea, David, Natalie, Katalina, Andrew, Grace Ann, and Jeremiah, and 9 great-grandchildren. Along with her parents, Anna was preceded in death by Rev. Stephen Steinmetz, and sisters, Peggy Ann and Ruth.

Anna was a charter member of the People’s Missionary Baptist Church and a longtime member of the Springfield Missionary Baptist Church. She was a loving mom and homemaker who enjoyed cooking, working in her flowers, and her antiques. Christmas was her favorite time of year. She was known for her homemade Christmas cookies that would fill jars and line the countertops. Being a faithful Christian woman, Anna could be found around the house singing her favorite hymns or saying a prayer. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. 

Family and friends will be received on Friday, December 6, 2024 from 4:00-6:00 PM at the Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center, Springfield. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Springfield Missionary Baptist Church. Burial to follow at Ferncliff Cemetery.
