WILLIS, Alan Buckley "Bucky" age 83 of Springfield, formerly of Dayton, passed away peacefully with his family surrounding him on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born on October 4, 1938, in Dayton, Ohio to the late Paul B. and Sarah Katherine "Katie" (Kemple) Willis. In addition to his parents, Bucky is preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Patricia A. "Pat" (Berner) Willis and his brother and sister-in-law, Bart and Catherine Willis. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his second wife of 21 years, Sharon; his children, Mary Beth (Raub), Theresa (Bob), Jennifer, Ken, and Amy (Carl); his grandchildren, Jamie, Christina (Jim), Matthew (Emily), Katie, Luke, Grace, Mary, Joseph, and Isaac; and his great-grandsons, Simon and Thomas. Bucky graduated from Oakwood High School, class of 1955, received his Associates Degree in Accounting from Sinclair Community College and served his country in the United States Navy. He was a dedicated employee of General Motors and retired as the supervisor of the Accounts Payable department at Delco Moraine. He never had idle hands, and his numerous hobbies included making unique wood and plastic creations with his scroll saw, drawing, tinkering on cars, and playing various card games, especially cribbage. Bucky also enjoyed playing softball in his younger years and was an avid bowler, even scoring a perfect 300 in his career. He participated in various clubs such as the Elks, VFW, Eagles, and American Legion. Bucky was a kind and funny family man who will be sadly missed by all who knew him. A gathering of friends and family will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2022, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center in Springfield, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations be made to Ohio's Hospice of Dayton or the American Lung Association in his honor.
